Welcome to the second annual "Acing out ALS".

This fundraiser is to honor Reza Beigi, a dear friend of my dad. Reza was a true friend -honest and supportive. He was the friend, who you hadn't spoken to for months and then pick up phone and speak for hours. Mr. Reza sounded like a friend you wanted but rarely found.

It seems Reza Beigi loved life and enjoyed a challenge. Whether it was him and my father running or competing in sports as children, or enjoying college, he was there to give his all. My Dad described him as "Brilliant" and "The smartest person I ever knew, but humble" Dad told us college stories from Oberlin College. How Mr. Reza was thoughtful, considerate and musically gifted. How he was also a great debater. My Dad laughed and told me "Reza could debate why Micky Mouse was better than Daffy Duck and make it sound important."

I learned about ALS by watching The Gleason Movie last year. I still remember the strength, courage and positivity during adversity Mr. Gleason showed. One movie quote I will always remember- "It's going to be hard, but it will be awesome!" I hope to remember this when I have bad days.

This fundraiser is me and my family's attempt to honor Reza and help current individuals with this disease.

Donations for this fundraiser with help Team Gleason. This organization allows individuals with ALS experience life changing experiences with leading edge technology, equipment and services.

Acing out ALS will occur May 21, 2023 at Cape Henry Racquet Club Virginia Beach, VA. (Thanks Coach Cummings). It will consistent of two teams each using their serving skills gaining points by hitting targets. My team will include my coach Roosevelt Cooper. My older brother, Tyson will also have a team.

I am confident that Team Marshall will generate the most serve points and donations. Last year we were short with Team Tyson winning. But a new year, new purpose and new focus brings new opportunities to be successful.

As an incentive, the team with the highest points will receive a donation from the Caines Family under Team Gleason. The team generating the greatest dollar amount ( by July 29, 2023-Reza's birthday) will also receive a second donation.

We also need your help. You can also contribute to a team member to bring their team to victory. No matter which team wins (Team Tyson or Team Marshall) everyone truly wins. Please help us support Team Gleason

Together, we can make a difference!
