Acing Out ALS -Team Marshall 2025

Marshall Caines

Marshall Caines

My name is Marshall. I am honored to participate and be captain of the THIRD Acing out ALS fundraiser. I am doing this to honor Dr. Reza Beigi, my father's friend who died of ALS. I am sad my Dad's best friend is not here. Dr. Reza seemed like a good friend- kind, trustworthy and honest. He was the type of friend I want to be.

Steve Gleason is an example of true grit and optimism.

As my mom said "Stop talking about what you can not do, but concentrate on what you can do". So, I am taking her advice again and doing this fundraiser for the THIRD time.

"Acing out ALS" premise is simple. Teens who love tennis giving their serves and time for a good cause. Points will be generated by serving and hitting practice cones. This year I will have Grant, Margaret and Hobie on my team- all friends from The Williams School.

The competition will be March 16 2025 at Old Dominion University and the Folkes Stevens Tennis Facility at 10:30 am.

My parents will donate to the player who generates the most serve points. In the spirit of competition, my parents will also give another donation to the individual that has received the most donations by July 29 2025- Dr. Reza's birthday. But don’t worry you can still donate after that date.

Although our team this year is smaller, I know with your help I can make an impact.

I am honored to help people with ALS. Please help me and my friends to make a difference.

I want to thank everyone who donated so quickly. It really mean alot. If you have a chance look at Steve Gleason documentary on Prime. It will really show the spirit and grit he has. No white flags!
