My Acing Out ALS Fundraising Page

If you would have asked me about ALS a year ago, I would've not known much about it. This changed when our close friend, Zachary was diagnosed last April.

Zachary was always a constant part of our family. I have known him all my life. He was a beautiful human who lived life to the fullest. Above all, he was a friend to all he met. He would make friends wherever he went...and had quite the gift of gab! He also loved hiking in the mountains and cycling. He used his joy of cycling to participate in an annual cyclist fundraiser in New York City for many years. This annual fundraiser was an example to me about how to live life with joy not only for your benefit, but for others. He was an exceptional role model on how to live life to the fullest. It was difficult for me to witness his quick deterioration. My family and I were witness to his six month relentless process of succumbing to this disease and also the after effects it has left on his son and husband (partner of thirty years). We all miss our buddy Zachary so so much.

My love of medicine and science inspired me to learn about ALS. I quickly learned about the disease's devastation and terminal prognosis. I am not sure if my science goals will allow me to find a disease cure. But I am sure for now, contributing to this fundraiser is a small step in that direction. I do believe you can always do something and this is my doing something!

When Marshall asked me to use my love of tennis to help the Gleason Foundation, I was all in. Using my serve skills to generate donations is my contribution to defeat this disease. With your donations I can make a strong and meaningful contribution. I am honored to dedicate my tennis skills and time in remembrance of Zachary and all others suffering with this disease.

Please donate to this foundation so more patients with ALS can live their best lives.
