Honoring Ronald Gunderson by Fighting ALS and Running "The World's Toughest Race"

Jonathan Gunderson

Jonathan Gunderson

In honor of my father, Ronald Gunderson, and the spirit of faith, joy and perserverance with which he battled ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease) for 4+ years, I am running the Badwater Ultramarathon 135 miles through Death Valley on July 15th and raising money for ALS patient charity, Team Gleason. This will be the 7th time I have run the race, to honor the man whose legacy I carry. Help me as I run the "World's Toughest Race" to tackle one of the "World's Toughest Disease" to treat. I hope to share with you pictures, rememberances and video along the way to give you a greater glimpse of who he was and how he impacted lives as a man of action. He was a tremendous man who lived a blessed life, with blessings to others that will carry on in perpetuity.

Please SHARE this with your friend networks and please make a contribution as you are led. Your contribution will make a tremendous impact on ALS patients' lives, whether you donate $5 or $500. We will match every donation dollar for dollar! Every little bit helps. Thank you for your support for those continuing to fight the good fight. Phil 4:13

A great picture from Death Valley at the start of my very first time running the Badwater Ultramarathon. My dad Ronald is on the far left side, ever present to support me in all I pursued.

Another great look back at a picture of the family, at my brother Daniel Gunderson’s college graduation. Knowledge for him wasn’t a tool to disconnect or raise oneself above others; it’s pursuit helped inform his lengthy career in business.
